FORD MUSTANG
The legendary Ford Mustang car appeared in the lineup of the American manufacturer in 1964 in two body styles: a convertible and a two-door sedan (coupe). Two years later, the company sold 1,000,000 copies of the car. The manufacturer offered ample opportunities for individualizing the machine. For example, only one Mustang interior could be designed in one of 34 options. A year after the start of production, various Mustang sports modifications began to be released. Overhaul of the car was carried out in 1969. The machine gained in size and weight, and also received new modifications. The second generation Mustang debuted in 1974. Cars became smaller but retained all types of bodies. In 1978, a third generation car was presented at the Geneva Motor Show. After that, the model was constantly updated, receiving new body options and engines. In 1993, Mustang IV entered the market, which was stylized as the first model. For the 40th anniversary of the brand’s history, the company launched the Mustang GT-R equipped with a 440-horsepower aluminum V8 engine. A completely new generation of the sports car was introduced in 2005 at the Detroit Auto Show. The new Ford Mustang is designed on a modified platform and features a more aggressive body.
The first generation Ford Mustang Convertible hit the market in 1964. In addition to the convertible, the model was presented in a coupe. The design of the car was similar to the design of the Continental Mark II luxury coupe, which was produced under the Lincoln brand in the mid-50s. A 2.8-liter Falcon six-cylinder engine was installed under the hood of the car. In 1967, a new version of the car appeared, which added in length and height. The next modernization was carried out in 1969. The machine is even further removed from the initial concept. A full second generation was born in 1974. The appearance of the car returned to its roots, and its design was developed by the Italian specialist Alessandro de Tomaso. Between 1979 and 1993, the third generation Mustang Convertible was produced. The car was designed on the Fox platform, and the appearance and dimensions of the car resembled the Scorpio and Sierra models. Convertibles were powered by V6 engines. In addition, a charged modification was released with a V8 engine developing a capacity of 175 horsepower. In 1984, to the 20th anniversary of the machine, the manufacturer released the limited edition GT350. In 1994, a new generation of Mustang came out, undergoing a major redesign. And in 2004, at the North American International Motor Show, the premiere of a completely redesigned car on the new D2C platform took place.
