Ford F150 - 11th generation, 06.2003 - 07.2008, Pickup

History

The legendary F-series pickups, which include the Ford F-150 Raptor, have been in production for over 60 years. The first car was produced already in 1948, and the F-150 modification came out in the 1970s. After (from the 9th generation) the cars were “re-qualified” into a separate model. They are now the world leader in their class of sales. More than 800,000 pickups are sold annually.

The 11th generation F-150 first manufactured in 2003. The car received a wide range of motors and 3 body types. The novelty has become much better, more "mature" outside and inside.

Exterior

The American pickup truck Ford F-150 of the 3rd generation has noticeably matured. This is immediately apparent from the front of the vehicle. It is distinguished by large optics, a solid radiator grille, which received wide ventilation holes. Fog lights are installed in the bumper.

The side exterior mirrors have received a clear, regular, rectangular shape. The car also changed in the rear, where there was already rectangular optics with a more interesting design. It's hard to miss the bloated wheel arches with stylish wheels.

Interior

The interior of the new Ford F-150 III has also undergone significant changes. In front of the driver there was a 4-spoke steering wheel, behind which an informative "tidy" was hidden. She received two large circular gauges, spaced apart on the sides, which were responsible for the tachometer (left) and speedometer (right). Now the ventilation system deflectors have a round shape.

The center console initially looks a little overloaded with buttons, but over time you can easily get used to all this. If a large cabin was envisaged, the second row had comfortable seats that could easily accommodate 3 adult passengers.

Technical Part

The third generation Ford F-150 had different gasoline atmospheric engines. The engine compartment was equipped with powerful 6- and 8-cylinder V-shaped engines. The working volume was from 4.2 to 5.4 liters. Developed such power plants 202-304 "horses" (342-495 Nm). Together with the engines, the Americans provided only one box - a 4-speed automatic. But it was possible to choose all-wheel drive or mono-drive (rear wheels).

As for the design of the 3 family of Ford F-150 2003, the car received a frame body structure. The frame itself was made from box-section elements. An independent suspension can be seen ahead, which has double wishbones, struts and coil springs. And the rear part has a dependent design, which received reinforced leaf springs.
